Zolmitriptan Odt - clinical reference
A licensed healthcare practitioner can help you understand what applies to your specific situation.
The recommended adult dose is a single dose of 2.5 mg. If the migraine headache returns, the dose may be repeated after 2 hours. You should not take a total dose of more than 10 mg in any 24-hour period. If a dose has not helped your headache at all, do not take a second dose without first consulting a doctor.
Zolmitriptan tablets should be taken whole with water at the first sign of a migraine headache, but they can be taken at any time during a migraine headache. You may also split the tablets in half if your doctor has recommended that you do this to get a lower dose.
Many things can affect the dose of medication that a person needs, such as body weight, other medical conditions, and other medications. If your doctor has recommended a dose different from the ones listed here, do not change the way that you are taking the medication without consulting your doctor.
It is important to use Zolmitriptan Odt exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
Store Zolmitriptan Odt at room temperature, protect it from moisture, and keep it out of the reach of children.
Do not dispose of medications in wastewater (e.g. down the sink or in the toilet) or in household garbage. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medications that are no longer needed or have expired.
In addition to its desired action, this medication may cause some adverse effects, notably: it may cause dryness of the mouth; it may cause drowsiness or dizziness - use caution when getting up from a lying or sitting position and use caution if driving; it may cause nausea or, rarely, vomiting; it may cause numbness and a decreased sensitivity to touch; it may cause stiffness of the neck and jaw. Each person may react differently to a treatment. If you think this medication may be causing adverse effects (including those described here, or others), talk to your health care professional. He or she can help you to determine whether or not the medication is the source of the problem.

Medications other than those listed above may interact with Zolmitriptan Odt. Tell your doctor or prescriber about all prescription, over-the-counter (non-prescription), and herbal medications you are taking. Also tell them about any supplements you take. Since caffeine, alcohol, the Nicotine from cigarettes, or street drugs can affect the action of many medications, you should let your prescriber know if you use them.
Before you begin taking a medication, be sure to inform your doctor of any medical conditions or Allergies you may have, any medications you are taking, whether you are pregnant or breast-feeding, and any other significant facts about your health. These factors may affect how you should take Zolmitriptan Odt.
Allergic reactions: Rare, severe allergic reactions to zolmitriptan may occur. Because of the possibility of allergic reaction, you should not use zolmitriptan if you are allergic to any of the other medications of this class (5-hydroxytryptamine agonists).
Blood pressure: Zolmitriptan may cause an increase in blood pressure. If you have severe or uncontrolled high blood pressure you should not take zolmitriptan.
Drowsiness/reduced alertness: You may feel drowsy as a result of taking zolmitriptan. Do not perform tasks requiring alertness (e.g., driving or operating machinery) if you experience drowsiness or dizziness.
Galactose intolerance/glucose malabsorption: Zolmitriptan tablets are prepared with lactose. If you have lactose or galactose intolerance, you should not take the tablet formulation.
Heart disease: Zolmitriptan Odt may cause narrowing of the blood vessels that supply the heart. This can lead to chest pain, heart attacks, and other heart problems. For this reason, you should not use zolmitriptan if you have heart or blood vessel disease. If you have certain risk factors for heart disease (e.g., high blood pressure, High Cholesterol, smoking, Obesity, Diabetes, family history of Coronary Artery Disease, Menopause, men over 40 years of age), tell your doctor.
Liver function: Liver disease or reduced liver function may cause Zolmitriptan Odt to build up in the body, causing side effects. If you have liver problems, discuss with your doctor how Zolmitriptan Odt may affect your medical condition, how your medical condition may affect the dosing and effectiveness of Zolmitriptan Odt, and whether any special monitoring is needed. Your doctor may want to test your liver function regularly with blood tests while you are taking Zolmitriptan Odt. You may need a lower dose of zolmitriptan.
Medication overuse headaches: As with other pain relief medications, overuse of zolmitriptan may lead to medication overuse headaches, or "rebound headaches" where the headache returns as the medication wears off. Avoid taking more of Zolmitriptan Odt than is recommended by your doctor. If you experience more frequent headaches, contact your doctor as soon as possible.
Seizures: There have been rare reports of seizures experienced by people taking Zolmitriptan Odt. If you have a history of Epilepsy or other conditions that increase the risk for seizure your doctor should closely monitor you while taking Zolmitriptan Odt.
Serotonin syndrome: Severe reactions are possible when zolmitriptan is combined with other medications that act on serotonin, such as tricyclic antidepressants and serotonin reuptake inhibitors – medications used to treat Depression. These combinations must be avoided. Symptoms of a reaction may include muscle rigidity and spasms, difficulty moving, and changes in mental state including delirium and agitation. Coma and death are possible.
If you are taking antidepressants, discuss with your doctor how Zolmitriptan Odt may affect your medical condition, how your medical condition may affect the dosing and effectiveness of Zolmitriptan Odt, and whether any special monitoring is needed.
Pregnancy: Zolmitriptan Odt should not be used during pregnancy unless the benefits outweigh the risks. If you become pregnant while taking Zolmitriptan Odt, contact your doctor immediately.
Breast-feeding: It is not known if zolmitriptan passes into breast milk. If you are a breast-feeding mother and are taking Zolmitriptan Odt, it may affect your baby. Talk to your doctor about whether you should continue breast-feeding.
Children and adolescents: The safety and effectiveness of using Zolmitriptan Odt have not been established for children or adolescents.
Seniors: The use of zolmitriptan by people over the age of 65 years is not recommended.

I reached out to a Pocketpills regarding some issues I was experiencing with my skin. The pharmacist assisting me got back to me within the hour. She was helpful in suggesting remedies and providing instructions. The prescription was filled instantaneously. The entire process was perfect - amazing communication, live updates through text, phone and email. The reminders were extremely helpful. Delivery was efficient and seamless. I felt cared for every step of the way. Thank you for everything
I wanted to make a change to the formulation of my prescription and the pharmacist promptly made the changes necessary to adapt my prescription to suit my skin. And delivered 2 days before scheduled. Thank you!

This is our first time experience of using Pocketpills. It was very convenient to prescribe the acne medication with pharmacist, rather than to have a long wait with a doctor. Thank you for the fast delivery and service!
Very reliable with fast shipping! The app is easy to use, fees are fair, and there is excellent communication! Highly recommend.

I got my prescription delivered for free within 4 business days. All went smoothly which was pretty good. This was easy and I will use it again.
Great and fast service. It's cheaper and easier than going to a pharmacy.
Time is the currency of life. Pocketpills gives me my time back. 100% recommend!
Super easy, lower prices, real Dr review. The pharmacist even reached out to me about my dosage. I feel very comfortable and well looked after by people who seem to actually care. It's been a great experience. So much so that I've recommended Pocket Pills to my friends and family.
Fast delivery even before estimated delivery date. Its great not having to go to a physical pharmacy. I highly reccommend pocketpills

I really, really appreciate this service, it makes staying on top of my medication so much easier. The team has also always been kind and helpful to me in every interaction I've had. The free shipping is incredibly nice, they keep me informed about the shipping process for my medication, and they manage my refills and contact my doctor if necessary. It takes a lot of little stresses off my plate, especially as someone with ADHD who is not the best at managing these little stresses. The app is also nicely organized and easy to use, and I can communicate with a pharmacist through text or call whenever I need. Not to be dramatic, but Pocket Pills has genuinely improved my life!
Pocketpill makes it easy and efficient to ship and deliver on time. Medication shouldn't be a source of stress - something Pocketpill seems to understand
I received all my prescriptions as promised, delivered straight to my door. So much easier than it ever has been to get my pills. Thanks!

Very fast and efficient service. They are good at communicating with you about your needs. Very helpful and supportive
